Prepare to go solar.

Like any investment, it’s vital to be informed so you can choose the right partner.

Guide to Going Solar

Follow these key considerations to avoid common pitfalls.

Clarify your sun situation

All properties are different so it’s important to work with a company who will customize a system that best utilizes the strengths of your home. During our SmartSolar Consultation, our experts will analyze the slope, direction and shading of your roof to maximize the output of your system. In some cases, it may even be best to go with a ground mounted system.

While some people believe you must have a south facing roof to generate solar power efficiently, that’s a myth and east and west roof exposure can also be efficient.

Know your solar panel options

Different companies get their solar panels from different manufacturers, and the quality varies dramatically.  PacificSky only uses best-in-class panels – and they come backed by a 25 year warranty.

Get clarity on your roof type

Make sure you find a contractor who has experience installing on your roofing material – many will only work on composite shingle roofs. Don’t be some contractor’s first time!  We have experience working on all types of roofs and are happy to walk you through the precautions we take to protect your particular roof type.

Ensure the Right Financing Option for You

Solar panels can be bought or leased.  If leasing, many companies lock you into working with certain companies – be sure to be upfront on asking what your options are.  While PacificSky has certain recommended partners, we are flexible in helping you find the right option for you and your family.

Q: How long will my system last?

A: We use only world-class products to ensure the best quality panels. All our products are backed with a 25 year warranty, though panels routinely outlast the warranty.
